The nearest airport is Zadar (ZAD). Ryanair, Croatian, Eurowings, Lufthansa, and many others fly there. From there, you can reach Biograd in 30 minutes by airport shuttle or Uber for about 50 €.
You can also fly via Split SPU. Most airlines fly there. However, the transfer from the airport takes longer—1½ to 2 hours. There’s a Flixbus that runs three times a day between Trogir and Biograd. Trogir is connected every 30 minutes by bus line 37 (tickets are available in the Promet app). You can also take the airport shuttle, but at €150, it’s significantly more expensive.
By car
From southern Germany, you can reach us in 8–10 hours via Villach or Graz on a toll highway. You can park either at the Pitter-Werft for 50 € per week (transfer included), at the marina grounds (15 € per day), or in a public parking lot right next to the marina (via the Bmove app; 25–60 € per week, depending on the season).
By bus
For adventurers, Flixbus offers an overnight trip to Biograd via Zagreb.
Saturday is crew change day
Our cruises always start and end on Saturday. As far as your arrival is concerned, this means you can arrive at your leisure sometime during the day. Check-in on the boat begins at 5 p.m., and at 6 p.m. we’ll go shopping together. If it’s more convenient for you, you can also join us on Sunday morning. After breakfast, however, we’ll get right into the program.
There are no activities planned for the Saturday of your departure, so you can leave whenever is most convenient for you. However, if you are taking an exam, we do not recommend leaving on Friday: depending on the weather, the exam may be postponed until the evening.
FAQ
When do I need to be there? On which days do I need to take vacation?
We always travel from Saturday to Saturday. Check-in is at 5 p.m. on Saturday, and check-out is by 8 a.m. the following Saturday. So you only need to take time off work for the sailing week from Monday to Friday.
I have plans this weekend. Can I come later? Or earlier?
Please arrive and depart on Saturday, though the travel time is very flexible: any time on Saturday is fine. It’s even okay if you arrive on Sunday morning. Departing on Friday would also be fine, but you’ll need to be flexible: depending on the weather, the exam might not end until the evening.
Flights on Friday or Sunday would be better. Can I arrive earlier and leave later?
Check-in and check-out times are quite tight, since we need to inspect the boat and get it ready for the next trip. Unfortunately, this means we usually can’t let you stay any longer. If you’d like to arrive earlier or leave later, please book an Airbnb for the extra night. However, if there’s a Manatee cruise the week before or after that isn’t fully booked, you’re welcome to stay on board—for free or, if you’d like, in exchange for a small donation to the onboard fund.
How do I get from the airport to the boat?
That's easy to do with Uber. There's also an airport shuttle from Zadar Airport to Marina Biograd, but it must be booked in advance. At the sailing meetup, we can compare flight times and carpool.
