Saturday to Saturday. We will be sailing for 6 full days. The first and last days are half days for arrival and departure.

The area around Palma is ideal for those new to sailing. There are numerous harbors and bays, as well as short distances, ensuring varied practice opportunities. The mediterranean weather ensures plenty of sunshine and mostly moderate winds.

This trip will be occupied by a maximum of 6 people. A small crew gives you plenty of time to practice and intensive, personal support and exam preparation.

License SBF See (ICC)

On this trip, you will obtain your “Sportbootführerschein See” (SBF) license. This is the official German license required to sail yachts at sea. For more information, refer to the German Sailing Association (DSV)...

Trainer Markus

Markus has sailed over 5,000 nautical miles, has the SSS certification, and patiently shares his love of sailing with others.

Practical experience Time at the helm

From your first time at the helm to independent maneuvers: you will gain real experience with a large sailing yacht from day one. You will practice all maneuvers relevant to the exam, such as steering, docking, and rescue maneuvers. You’ll also cover a lot of miles at the helm—always adapting to the weather and crew.

Theory Directly on board

Learn all the theory directly on board and put it into practice immediately. Topics include navigation, ship handling and traffic rules.

Safety Equipment & safety instruction

The trip includes certified rescue equipment, safety technology, first aid equipment and detailed safety instructions. This allows you to focus entirely on your studies and prepare directly for the exam!

Nautical charts Navigation

The course provides all the navigation materials you need to pass the exam, including map sections, a navigation square, and compasses.

App Exam questions & solutions

Access the 'SBF See' Manatee app, which contains all the official exam questions in the form of an interactive quiz. This is perfect for structured learning and revision. It includes illustrated solutions to all navigation tasks.

Confirmation of nautical miles 50 nautical miles

During the trip, we will cover approximately 50 nautical miles and confirm the distance you have sailed. Your personal logbook is a great memento and also proves your experience to charter companies. This proof of sailing 300 nautical miles is recognized as a requirement for admission to the SKS.

Exam SBF Theory & Practice

The theoretical and practical examination for the German recreational boat license (SBF See) is conducted by the DSV examination board directly on the boat.

Medical certificate confirming your fitness (vision, hearing, general health) from your GP.

Examination fees 189 €

Costs for registration and taking the theory and practical exams, as well as issuance of the recreational boat license by the DSV.

We cook together using great recipes on board and organise the traditional sundowner. There are also opportunities to buy fresh fish from local fishermen. Everyone takes turns to cook, which is a meditative and creative experience, and an authentic part of crew life.
